fINAL sTRETCH

With the new update I just wanted to take the time to highlight what my friend in Argentina has done for this project with his AMAZING art!!!!! he's responsible for the character sheet, the focus and instrument charts, and with a little bit rotoscoping and some fill tool from yours truly, has taken the balance chart page from functional to actually interesting!!!!! if you're interested in Zirk Vervain and Naddpod he can be found on tumblr.
I made the cover of the game like 3-5 years ago(time and myself have a very casual relationship). back when I was watching a Tonne of Miscast on youtube, and Trent really inspired me to give it a go with making art that spoke to me. When i drew this i had just taken what was just a basic roll dice to do magic game and come across the idea of The Hungry. and so I drew this as a symbol for it's ever present hunting eye, constantly seeking out all things magical and queer. that version was meant to be a pamphlet size game whose mechanics were so needlessly complicated it's no wonder I threw it all out and started from scratch here.
this lead to my seeing the post for this and rewriting everything in a night(my standard mode of writing). but as you can see in the latter photos, the style was not there at all, just pretty colours on a basic table, but sitting with such lovely art I wanted to make something contrasting and simple, but still with the edge of the opening and the character charts, something that felt a bit unsettling, like the pages were tearing apart, but what was coming in wasn't the same as the witches, vibrant freedom.
these are just some LATE night ramblings of a girl too wound up to go to sleep and wanting to gush a bit! so thank you if you've made it this far!
lastly this wouldn't be an update if I didn't highlight the different text additions that were made between 4.0 and 4.1. on top of expanding the text on community to greater emphasis that it's not only the people your characters are going to be fighting to protect. but to also provide guides for when to have those characters directly intervene and either become backup witches, or help a witch recover from a failure they might otherwise completely loose themselves to despair through!
and part of this was getting to write an example of this in game, which was fun to play with mechanizing of story, and to express something deeply personal, and needed, and something I've both received a form of and a dream of things to come. plus if you change the names it's also a kaitvi scene that totally happened in my head lol.
I hope you're all staying safe and connected and showing and receiving love!
I'm sending mine to you!
